Product FAQs
What is Somno tablet used for?
Somno tablet is used for the treatment of insomnia and other sleeping disorders. Melatonin in the Somno tablet helps control the sleep cycle and live a better life.
What are the drug-drug interactions of Somno?
Cytochrome P450 isoenzymes and CYP1A2 are involved in the metabolism of melatonin, and consequently, other drugs that inhibit or induce these isoenzymes may affect melatonin levels. oMelatonin should not be taken with fluvoxamine, methoxsalen, cimetidine, or oestrogens, all of which increase the melatonin concentrations through inhibition of its metabolism. oTobacco smoking may decrease melatonin levels due to induction of CYP1A2. Cigarette smoking may decrease melatonin levels due to induction of CYP1A2. CYP1A2 inducers such as carbamazepine and rifampicin may give rise to reduced plasma concentrations of melatonin. oAlcohol should not be taken with melatonin because it reduces the effectiveness of melatonin on sleep. oMelatonin may enhance the sedative properties of benzodiazepines and non-benzodiazepine hypnotics, such as zaleplon, zolpidem and zopiclone.
What are the side effects of melatonin?
There are no serious side effects of melatonin. Some people may face slight nausea, dizziness, and headache.
Does Somno tablet cause addiction?
No, Somno does not cause addiction.
Can Somno tablet be taken with antidepressants?
Some drugs may interfere with the metabolism of Somno and vice versa. Melatonin levels may be subject to change due to some antidepressants. Hence medical advice may be taken.
